The longest run of my life

As I've stated before I just recently started running. In high school and Jr.  high when playing sports or in gym class running was a punishment and really discouraged me from enjoying it because the negativity I associated with running for so many years. As a teenager I heard the words suicides,  take a lap, or run and I immediately wondered what I had done wrong (Maybe and most likely this was not the couches or teachers intention but when the negative connection is already established you tend to think what you have been conditioned to). I feel that many young people feel this way whether they realize it or not.
My outlook now is much different. I view running as a way to fill my time reach, my goals, and calm my mind and body. Today has been a great example, I completed the longest run I have ever done, 6.78 miles. A huge milestone for me and something I never thought in a million years I could do. Now that my outlook has changed and the positive mind frame is there I am surprising myself with what I can accomplish. Along with eating clean I have never felt better in my life.
I have also found it useful to learn as much as I possibly can, about all the mechanics of running. I just finished Marathon the ultimate training guide the third edition by Hal Higdon and it is an absolute must read if you are serious about completing any half or full marathon.  Its also an easy read the guy sounds awesome (we are BFF's he just doesn't know it).
